Counseling Can Help

While the relationships in our lives are vital to our overall wellbeing as a source of connection, intimacy, love, and partnership, these relationships can also become a source of pain and conflict. My goal is to help you understand the roots of negative patterns and conflict together, and to offer the tools and support needed for healing and growing closer.
Even the most solid loving couples can run into problems when resentments and past hurts build up over time. Difficulty communicating can lead to feeling alone and misunderstood.

Communication Skills

Our time together includes developing effective communication skills so you can learn to resolve conflict with greater ease, avoiding endless circular arguments and daily ups and downs. This paves the road to deeper connection and partnership, grounded in respect and appreciation.

The conflicts we experience with loved ones are often based in the unintentional ways we trigger one another’s pain or patterns from childhood. You may find yourself taking out the stress of the day on your partner, or maybe you have a general feeling of disconnection that has grown over time. Whether you find yourself in arguments about the kids, finances, or past events, our work together will help you identify and understand these charged areas, the first step to healing your relationship.

How I Can Help

My goal is to help you identify the roots of these emotional needs and triggers, allowing you to be aware of the pattern and feel more empathy, understanding and connection with your partner.

To support the healing of these triggers we use a range of approaches including the EMDR technique to allow your central nervous system to release the emotional charge you experience in your body and mind when triggered in this way.
